Fundraising and Development Intern/Student Placement
We are currently looking to hire a Fundraising and Development Intern to support our administrative functions and fundraising initiatives at the Laser Eagles Art Guild.
The Fundraising and Development Intern is responsible for supporting various members of staff and Board members in reaching fundraising and administrative goals.
Reporting to the CAVE Board of Directors and senior members of the Laser Eagles staff, the intern is an important team member that contributes to the overall functionality and growth of the organization. The position’s primary responsibility is ensuring all administrative and fundraising functions are running smoothly and that each member on the board and staff are able to perform their regular responsibilities.
Working alongside the Program Coordinator and Master Trackers of the program, the internship also contributes to the development and implementation of various art-related initiatives that benefits the growth of our artists and their trackers.
This is an unpaid position, preferably for a post-secondary student
looking to gain experience in the areas of Volunteer Coordination
Management, Non-Profit Program Management, Fine Arts and Visual Arts, Art
History, or Disability Studies.
Responsibilities:
·Assisting at regular art sessions, either in Toronto or Etobicoke, to ensure that the artist to tracker ratio is balanced
·Preparing fundraising materials and sending them to prospective artist and art organizations to potentially develop partnerships with them
·Researching about various art initiatives and events that Laser Eagles can take part of in the coming months
·Updating the website with news, photos and blog posts pertaining to art, artists, Inclusion and the community
·Assisting in putting together exhibitions for the artists by preparing artwork, labeling, sorting and hanging
·Assisting in soliciting donations from various art organizations for supplies, from corporate donors and from regular patrons by promoting our "Sponsor an Artist” campaign
·Updating the online database, social media networks and assisting in the monthly newsletter with updates and photos
Qualifications
·Is in a university or college program with placement requirements OR
·Is a Grade 12 high school student needing to fulfill community service hours for graduation
·Have a personal interest in visual arts or is currently pursuing a designated arts degree
·A portfolio of previous art work and assignments is an asset
·Excellent communication and organizational skills
·Possess a high degree of patience and active listening skills
·Ability to interact and engage with the community to promote the mission of Laser Eagles
·Be a strong representation of inclusion, and offer everyone the opportunity for self-expression and participation through the creation of art
